How Do YOU Get Involved?
Welcome!
| There are only two steps in the single best way to get involved:
1. Subscribe. You can grab a feed: 2. Comment on the articles contributed by our authors. Be willing to learn with us, and tell us what you think. The JJL community will pay attention and they will converse with you! After that, hang on for the joyful and jubilant ride. |
That’s honestly all there is to it. Contributing authors get invitations to write for us when they start hanging around and the comment fields can’t seem to hold all their enthusiasm anymore. However they do not simply write to broadcast; they contribute to engage in learning, ask some good questions, and seek to add value. Take advantage of them!
Want to know a bit more first? Fair enough;
Our Community Values
Inclusiveness has always been one of the core values of our community; you “join” simply by reading, commenting, and getting to know everyone else.
Collaborative Learning is what we are about; it is both a value driving our behavior, and our constant goal. We strongly believe in the “Power of We.”
Aloha, is our primary, foundational value. The spirit of aloha, the sharing of one’s “breath of life” with dignity, respect, acceptance and good intention. This is a place for optimistic, positive voices intent on reaffirming the human spirit.
A point of history:
The very first members of the Ho‘ohana Community were the readers and practitioners of Managing with Aloha. It used to be that the Ho‘ohana Community was thought of as mine, as the author of Managing with Aloha, but no longer. It is ours. The “I” has become a “we” here with the arrival of the Joyful Jubilant Learning, and our value of inclusiveness has not changed.
Choose to Get Involved
1. Comment, Join the Discussion, or Link.
The essence of JJL is collaborative learning, which relies on a high level of interaction among the community. Each month there is a theme proposed to kick-start the thought process, and initial posts provide suggestions, ideas and lessons-learned, which serve as a starting point for new learning. Please join the learning by commenting and/or using trackbacks to JJL when you continue exploring ideas on your own blog.
2. Prepare for Future Learning Forums
We have two: Our Annual Love Affair with Books is held each March, and our Annual Joyful Jubilant Learning Forum is held in September.
A shout-out to all readers is posted sometime in the month before each event, as they are open to all who would like to participate.
3. Participate in a Learning Project
On occasion we experiment with Learning Projects, pilots initiated by the Ho‘ohana Community members. As we present them in future postings, we’ll ask for people to get involved in specific ways. Watch for the new posts which include in their title,
Project #__ - project name
For example,
Moving Forward
Ready?
We shall keep these comments open and continually updated (i.e., those acted on will be removed as they are integrated into JJL). Through comments to this post, we can engage in a rich discussion about the what, why, how, and when of learning. The "who" will always be we, as community. This will be the place for your Learning Project ideas to continually be shared, talked about, and supported. Those who want to spearhead Learning Projects are encouraged to raise their hands in volunteering for leadership.
Are you as ready as we are? As a joyful, jubilant learner, you must be,
and we look forward to your involvement. Welcome to the community!
With my aloha,
~Rosa Say for the Ho'ohana Community
What would you like to learn with us collaboratively?
The comments are open!

This is one great concept. It looks like a wonderful community and I welcome the opportunity to contribute to it.

I am so thrilled that I have found your blog. I have had the honor and pleasure of working with teachers and students in Hawaii, and the spirit of Aloha is forever in me. This is a wonderful opportunity and context to spread the joys of learning and the Aloha spirit to everyone!

Aloha Sandra, welcome to JJL and thank you so much for introducing yourself to the community.
We shall look forward to learning more about you and those 7 secrets you bring to your coaching - and maybe a little about Germany along the way?
