How Large Is Your Dash?
I was fortunate to get this email from Viv Conant from Nightingale-Conant with an invite to visit and watch a short three minute movie titled, The Dash. This was the content of his email:
As Chairman of Nightingale-Conant, I occasionally read something that by-passes the brain and goes straight to the heart. Reading The Dash Poem was one of those times. The Dash Movie takes only three minutes to watch, but those three minutes can truly change the way you think about life. I hope it will touch you as much as it touched me.
Turn up the volume on your PC then Click on the following link to watch The Dash Movie (or cut and paste into your browser):
It will touch your heart.
Now I Have Another New BHAG
For about a decade I have been wondering if I could create a 'movie' that would 'touch the heart' of business owners. Now more than ever, I feel the urgency to create a 'business movie' - something that touched the 'heart' as the Dash does.
I suppose I could do this myself but when I saw the movie, I immediately wanted to share it with you all. What I did not expect was the urging I felt to create a movie of my own and as I am writing this post I am wondering what we might be able to accomplish were we to collaborate on the message of the movie?
I guess I know what I want my 'project' to be. Anyone else feel so moved?
Mahalo 'Ohana

Thanks for sharing the movie, Greg. Although the idea isn't original to me, I've long thought the dash held more meaning than the dates.

Greg, I have lots of questions on how to do this so I think that says I can help. This has been tried before but maybe not by a group like us.

Thanks for sharing, Greg. I was intending to write an article for my blog about living life to the fullest and I'm going to include this movie in that discussion.

I was moved Greg! Way moved. This movie grounds one's mind into what really is important. I think the urge to touch folks is one of the things that has drawn us together.

I concur, Greg. I have a friend who is a filmmaker here in Fargo and he's documenting a project he's working on where he will thank everyone who has made a difference in his life. It's called The Thank You Project. I'll let you know about his progress.
On a similiar note: Have you seen anything about One: The Movie? I can't wait to see it - I'm hoping to bring it to Fargo SOON! Here's the link: http://www.onethemovie.org/indexotm.html
I'll look forward to talking soon!

Carolyn: The 'dash' was a totally new concept to me and it is so true, the meaning is in the dash.
Steve: I am glad to read your interest and I welcome your questions.
Tim: I look forward to reading your post.
Dave: I agree that the urge to touch folks is another value of our community.
Jodee: Wow, this is so cool. I can really relate to the story behind One: The Movie... I have been thinking about doing a movie around 'business' and I am not sure where to begin but it will come together.
A Rough Concept: I am thinking we could do a documentary about the role of learning in the success of a business. The technology exists to interview via video in a picture-in-picture format and record it too. So the people we interview could be at home linked up via a web cam and then we ask questions, record, mix, and we have the raw footage for a movie.
I found myself looking at script writing software today and I was scratching my head wondering why I was looking at it... synergy...
What do you all think? What would capture your imagination? Who should we interview?

Greg, this was sent to me by Sunstar Elan, and it reminded me of your thoughts here, and your own March to Impact a Million.

It is a mission to feed 3 million children in 33 days time.
This may be yet another example of what you've already found, however I couldn't help but be struck by the reminder to your BHAG created back with JJL '06 on September 1st.
