Each day a new leaf

2006 calendar year comes to a close this weekend. It has been a full and eventful year for my family and for me personally. Considering many of the interactions we have had, I am sure your review would be full of similar highlights and significant events.

January saw (amongst many things) the publication of Aloha Rosa.

February was the advent of new templates for my Blogger sites.

March had much to chose from but one key link is my guest posting for Ronni Bennett.

April and spilling into May saw a series of conversations/interviews with Women and the Power of We which took place on the Blog Synergy.

May was a series of family celebrations: First communion, confirmation, graduation and multiple pictures to record the events.

June uniquely had 06/06/06 occur.

July was some vacation time, some print exposure and the Lowell Folk Festival.

August's highlight was Falmouth where Dolores and I celebrated our anniversary and I ran a good race.

September started with PodCamp Boston and closed with the Dodge Poetry Festival.

October began with the Festival but the highlight of the month was the creation and kickoff of this Joyful Jubilant Learning blog which grew out of the forum during September at Talking Story.

November was bitter sweet with the Revs making it to the MLS Cup final only to lose to penalty kicks. The JJL Anthem was captured in a vocal performance over the wonderful holiday weekend.

December is now although rapidly coming to a close. How do I choose a highlight from an incomplete month? The most appropriate would be that Satisfaction is a choice.

Looking back to see where one has come from is important to do. You need to know and recognize what you have accomplished. This recognition will help be a positive influences to continue on your chosen path. There are many ways to travel this road.

You can be like Annie and sing:

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

You can be like Greg and sing:

Every little day the world's brand new,
the sun comes up and the clouds roll through.
Everything else is just up to you.
Every little day the world's brand new.

You can have a BHAG or a ten year plan.

Create New Year resolutions or not.

2007 is coming. It is another day, another new. Perhaps new things to try or the end to some things that should be ended.

Whatever you do, be yourself. Be happy when you look in the mirror.

Be respectful of others.

Be a learner, continue to evolve and adapt to this every changing world.

Above all I hope you will enjoy it.

Life is difficult enough.

You need to bring some fun and laughter to it.

Well said Steve, all we need to do is be ourselves, reward ourselves, and treat the person in the mirror with love, respect, and do not forget to smile. :)

Absolutely Greg... especially the smile part. Money may make the world go round, but the smile smooths the way. Thanks for stopping by to share your comment!
