Fasttrack your books! It’s ALAWB’s Trackback Sunday!

If you have any of the JJL ALAWB ’07 books on your own bookshelf, you’ve likely noticed how re-reading it through the eyes of another reviewer can cause you to go back for more, skimming through the pages for your own annotations, or looking up index entries for what a reviewer mentions that hadn’t made the same first impression with you. As the comments here reflect, book reviews can get you to buy, that’s for certain, however they also serve to help you study, savor, and appreciate past buys all over again – go ahead, congratulate yourself for your past wisdom in making that choice!

So today, we’d like to try a new idea for our Love Affair with Books; this is the first of three Trackback Sundays we’ll have this month. If you’ve been following our March forum, you’ve noticed that we’ve sought to honor our guest reviewers by giving them our JJL web presence top-of-page exclusively on the day of their review; on Trackback Sunday we’d like to switch gears and invite all comers to the party!

For today;

  • If you’ve written any book reviews of your own recently, send a trackback here to this post (or add your link in the comments with an introductory blurb) so we can send some link love your way. At the same time, feel free to pick up the “I am a JJL Contributor” button in our right column, pointing the imbedded link right here.
  • The day is young as we post this (JJL is set on Honolulu time in honor of our Ho‘ohana Community roots), so if you have a favorite book you’d like to extend your own learning with by inviting some conversation to it, start writing, and get your post up today (read some tips here). Consider doing this for those books that are your intrigues and stumpers; get the community to investigate it and learn with you. If you don’t have a blog, send your review to our community mailbox, and we’ll post it for you here on JJL: it’ll appear right below this post today, and again, you can pick up our contributor badge too!
  • Third, share your aloha as part of the JJL Ho‘ohana Community! Click in to any trackbacks and links you see here, and if you’ve ever written a review about the book being reviewed, send that book reviewer a trackback to your review on their post, or comment for them.

All books will be added to our Shelfari page as well: see the JJL Shelfari BookShelf

Be a JJL Contributor. Indulge in your own passion for books, and enlarge your learning within the community. Let’s have a book reviewer’s party, JJL style!

Our JJL ALAWB ’07 Trackback Sunday is now officially open.
