More Summer Strengths Seminar Sizzle

Say that title six or seven times and not get tongue-tied!

Have you noticed? Learning and ELearning is sizzling hot this summer. That’s the good news, for you know how we feel about learning around here!

What comes with this passion for learning are more choices, so the only downside to the news is that you have to devote the time to deciding what, and who, gets your attention (the everyday learner’s dilemma).

You could also choose to just take the summer off and relax, however some of the offerings are pretty hard to resist.

For instance, I recently told you about “Summer of Development” the freebie that Marcus Buckingham is offering all strengths movement groupies (and as you know, I quite freely admit to being one of them), and so in the interest of giving equal time to both of the authors whose books we are profiling in our Learn to Lead with Your Strengths project, this was the announcement I just received in my email today from the Gallup Management Journal, which features StrengthsFinder 2.0 author Tom Rath.

Get the Inside Track
with the Gallup Management Journal Web Seminar Series

They don't seem to have a slick poster for it like MB, so I'll put all the details in the extended section of this posting for you - I'm sure they won't mind the free press!

As you'll see, this one is not free, but as the saying goes, you generally get what you pay for.

I've been a big fan of The Gallup Organization and the details of this series sounds great. I'd try to fit it in myself, except that I've already committed to supporting the Great Manager Program that Gallup will be bringing to Hawai'i for the first time - hurrah!

If you'll be in the islands during the on-site training in October you may want to consider that one, sponsored by the YWCA of O'ahu.

See, told you there are choices!

What’s Wrong With Your Brand?

Is your company connecting with your customers? Unfortunately, most companies aren’t. Their brand promises are crafted in conference rooms -- with too much attention paid to clever phrasing and too little emphasis placed on building emotional bonds. William J. McEwen, Ph.D., Global Practice Leader for Brand Management and author of Married to the Brand, explains why emotional brand commitment is vital to your success, and how to create powerful, lasting connections between your brand and your customers that stop margin erosion, differentiate you from the competition, and create greater demand.

November 7
Optimizing for Exponential Growth

Despite the viral growth of networks and communication capabilities, most companies are stuck in information gridlock and don’t know it -- because employee and customer data are housed and managed in “information silos.” Combining these data can unleash new and powerful insights into your organization. John Fleming, Ph.D., Principal and coauthor of Human Sigma: Creating Value at the Employee-Customer Encounter, shows how to link employee and customer data to optimize organizational performance and create exponential growth.
