Come THINK with us! Joyful Jubilant Learning receives a Thinking Blogger Award!
You will see a new banner in our sidebar: On Thursday JJL reader Anastasia Pryanikova, author of Lawsagna (alternating layers of thoughts, tools, tips, and other ingredients for a successful learning experience in law school and beyond), selected us for one of her Thinking Blogger Awards!
We shared in the award with Stephanie West Allen of Idealawg, the Informal Learning Blog by Jay Cross, Susan Cartier Liebel of Build A Solo Practice, LLC, and The Bamboo Project by Michele Martin. Great company to be in!
Thank you for the honor Anastasia! Have got to say it; we LOVE being thought of as thinkers!

I must seize this opportunity to highlight ALL the authors who contribute to Joyful Jubilant Learning, for this is a shared award, and one we are all very much committed to living up to. If you are reading JJL via a feed reader, please click in: Our listing of contributing authors is found in our sidebar, and THEY are our thinking bloggers of Joyful Jubilant Learning! |
There are some rules to follow, and we shall be good award winners and follow them, however I’d like to do so as a collaborative effort worthy of all the learning voices represented here. We need to “write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.”
Blogger Ilker Yoldas of The Thinking Blog ~ Power your brain started the award meme, urging everyone to include “blogs with real merits, i.e. relative content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking!” This is how she describes her own vision:
The Thinking Blog is more than just a frequently-updated source of amusing facts and interesting information. It is a stream of consciousness intended to be succinct and thought provoking. A cornucopia of eclectic topics aiming to examine a range of exciting ideas, inspirational technologies and cultural curiosities. There is something for everyone; from serious to humorous, for deep and light-hearted thinkers alike. It is also a place where other thinkers come to share their knowledge and engage in "the thinking process" with the rest of us - a community in the purest sense.
So let’s do this: JJL authors and readers, please comment here with your recommendations over the weekend, and on Monday we’ll make the awards after visiting your suggestions.
Which are the blogs which truly make YOU think?
Why, or how so?

Congratulations to all of you on this award. It's well deserved. This is definitely a place to get you thinking.
As for nominations, my vote for sure would be for Robyn McMaster's Brain Based Biz site http://brainbasedbiz.blogspot.com/
The element of her work that I find most fascinating is her description of how the brain works, providing some of the science to some of the things we believe by 'instinct' - and debunking some of the myths that we need to unlearn.
She covers a wide range of interesting material, highlights the work of other bloggers who are tapping into their multiple intelligences, and has a warm, human and personal voice. She's also been a great source of encouragement to me from my earliest days of blogging, and I'm pretty sure she does the same with other people who are starting to find their way too.
Oh and she's also an avid lifelong learner...
Only downside - she's already received the Thinking Blogger award. Sorry - but I really wanted to share the site with you all anyway :)

My favorite blog when it comes to deep thinking is Nick Smith's Life 2.0 (www.life2point0.com). I am always challenged and rewarded by reading and really contemplating his ideas.

Hi Jodee
Nick is one of my favourite bloggers too. He has the knack of finding the words that allow you to see everything in a totally new light.

I nominate Craig Harper (http://craigharper.com.au/index.htm).
He's a prolific, witty writer and his posts push readers to not only think, but act.
