Why I learn
"Don't wish to be challenged less; wish to learn more" - Benjamin Bach
I learn to attract success
I learn to be better, every day
I learn to communicate more effectively with everyone I meet
I learn to develop my philosophy
I learn to enjoy all that life has to offer
I keep learning to feed my curiosity
I learn to give my knowledge generously
I learn to help
I learn to invite opportunity into my life
I learn to jump ahead instead of stand still
I learn to keep improving
I joyfully jubilantly learn to live life large
I learn to never stop trying
I learn to open my eyes to the greatness within every situation
I learn to put people first
I learn to question everything
I learn to recognize the art in life
I learn to seek mentors
I learn to teach
I learn to understand myself
I learn to view everyone as a person
I learn to work within when I'm working without
I learn; you never know which idea will change a life
I learn to make a difference
Why do you learn ?

I learn because I can't imagine not learning.
There are so many fascinating things in the world!

This is fantastic Benjamin - just amazing.
Rosa, could we get JJL posters made up to download with this printed on it??
I know what Joann means about learning because you can't imagine not. It's like what someone else said to me about writing - she couldn't imagine not doing it. It would be like ceasing to draw breath.
So I think I'd say that I learn to be more fully, completely alive.

Ben, I think you're completely right about learning and self improvement/actualization. I think learning is also about being a leader. Leaders continually learn and strive to better themselves; learning to help themselves as well as learning the ability to help others. I think that having an open mind and being receptive to positive change is one of the best qualities a person can have. But, learning to teach others to have those qualities and enriching their lives is even better!

Benjamin:
A fine learning list.
There are many instrumental reasons why we learn.
I can't help learning because learning is fundamental to living, I believe learning=living but many of us just fail to see it because we thought it was something that took place only in classrooms with teachers at the front.
Take care Ben and carry on learning,
David

I saw a story on the news the other day about a 90-something woman going back to college, and she was saying how she believed that learning was keeping her alive because of the way it stimulated her brain. She said something to the effect of “my heart’s pretty good. Now if I can keep my brain kicking I figure the rest of me will have to keep up and keep going too.”
Eitan, I love what you added about how crucial learning is for leadership; I couldn’t agree more.

Great list, Ben!
I learn to keep up with all that is happening, to keep in step with the world, to help others along the way, my coaching tag line is "leave no buddy behind".
I love your line: "you never know which idea will change a life"
We'll never know unless we try!

WOW! Benjamin, this is so fantastic. I learn to stay alive! Learning is life. When we stop wondering, questioning, seeking, listening, pursuing, ...we no longer live life to the fullest! What an amazing thing to share. Thank You!

This is weird, but I like learning in case I'm ever stuck in a dessert, a forest, or a blizzard. I just want to learn how to survive. In the back of my mind I also wonder if I ever went back in time I would have to know my history, so I wouldn't get killed from doing a major taboo. I also like learning in case I'm stranded in the middle of a foreign country. I would like to know the language and their culture so I can get along with the people.
I like learning first aid, in case I ever meet anyone who needs my help. I like learning to swim in case I'm ever in the middle of the ocean. I like learning instraments in case I'm on the street and need to make a living.
I know it's weird. But that's why I learn stuff.
