A Mahalo November: Learned with 5
Within the spirit of the season this November, we will be writing about the 3-Way Promise of Appreciation, Gratitude and Thankfulness here on Joyful Jubilant Learning. I have so looked forward to this!
As I thought about my own contribution to the month, my mental gymnastics did this marvelous arabesque in my brain about a week ago (my brain truly surprises me sometimes, and thank goodness). I was putting my final touches on the posting I was preparing for the Value your Month, Value your Life program that is my Ho‘ohana (work intention) on Managing with Aloha Coaching. There, my theme is Mahalo, the Hawaiian value which helps us create the kind of workplaces we can be thankful for, practicing our attitude of gratitude as managers and leaders.
I ended up calling my Ho‘ohana for the month Mahalo: 3-way Promise, 5-fold Learning.
This is what I personally plan to do here on JJL during November, in connecting my Hawaiian value of Mahalo with the Joyful Jubilant Learning we focus on at this site:
As a way of celebrating my learning gratitude, I will be reflecting back on some of those studies in which I feel my LearnING became LearnED for me. My posts here this month will be kind of a Always 5 List-Fest, a collection of the 5 Take-Aways I feel stayed with me after reading certain books, from knowing certain authors or people in our community, or from studying certain disciplines (similar to what I recently had written on my 5-Step Weekly Review.)
Thus my Flickr-assisted logo for the month: L x 5 stands for LearnED with 5 Keepers.
There is an abundance I appreciate as a very eager learner, one constantly but gratefully humbled by the wealth of knowledge we can experience in our world. This learning is what I would love to express my thankfulness for, and how wonderful it is to have the chance to do so here in our JJL community.
I bet this learning abundance is ever-present for you too. I hope you will join me this month, and tell us about it.
And there will be more ... Can’t wait to discover what my co-authors here will write of this month! April, Ariane, Benjamin, Chris, Dave, David, Dean, Dwayne, EM, Greg, Joanna, John, Karen, Phil, Steve, Terry, Tim and Tim, what are all of you grateful for this two thousand and sevenish November?

I love the LX5. It also sounds like a luxury model sports car that will drive us out of the starting GATE (Gratitude, Appreciation, Thankfulness and Empathy). Vroom vroom.

Hi Rosa - I have a lot to be grateful for, so I'm looking forward to putting more of that gratitude on paper for JJL this month. Happy November!

Why thank you Ariane, what a wonderful thing to say - how cool to be thought of as a treasure! I do hope you'll be able to share more with us this month ... you've left me quite curious as to the other goodies on your list!
Happy November to you too Terry. Were your ears burning yesterday? During the presentation I did, I told my audience about your Crash Davis statement and suggested that we all do one. This was right before we took a break, and they really got into it; took me a while to round them up again!
