Rapid, Rapid Fire

No the headline isn't a typo, I made a conscious effort to make my learning uber-rapid this month - and what better than an experiment with a compressed form to make it so?  (Thanks to Michele Martin at the Bamboo Project Blog for the inspiration and fellow JJLers for the encouragement.)

Rapid fire 1

Writing leaps and bounds,
tempting me to try new forms,
teased by syllables.

Rapid fire 2

Less is more they say
forces you to clear your mind,
learning in haiku

Rapid fire 3

One line quotes from Al,
simple words of genius,
speak direct to me.

Rapid fire 4

Books are two way streets.
It's okay to mark them up,
Learning more that way.

Rapid 5

Die happy today.
Running through my mind all month.
Words can wake you up.

Do different formats help you to learn?  Comments, odes, sonnets or haikus welcome in response!

This month she's been focusing taking leaps and bounds with our writing - so it was inevitable there'd be some kind of spillover here!

Wonderful, Joanna! I'll tease a sherku out for this!

Honk! Honk!

a sherku, my value-added form of haiku

Karen, thank you :-) This was so much fun to do!

UPDATE: Karen, I'm so sorry, I didn't welcome you to JJL properly, or thank you for coming over (the power of Twitter!) I had just been reading a comment from Karen Wallace on my own blog and when I came over here and saw the name Karen I mistakenly thought it was the other friendly, encouraging supportive Karen that I know :-)

I only realised what I'd done when I got a comment from Karen Wallace when I realised what I'd done.

So, properly this time, welcome to JJL. It's lovely to see you here.

Steve

I can't tell you how much that sherku means to me.

Thanks for adding your two cents

Joanna

These are so cool! You'll notice that I wasn't brave enough to actually DO haiku--just to pass the idea along to those who actually have some writing skill! :-)

Collaboration;
Learning with company.
It is so, so good!

@ Michele I think you mean you weren't brave enough *yet* ! Thanks for the inspiration anyway :-)

@ Rosa I think this could be catching! I'm looking forward to more haikus, sherkus, poetry and who knows what more at JJL, it's the perfect playground for experimentation :-)

Joanna

Brilliant Joanna. It's amazing what you can say with so few words.

Poetry indeed...

Karen, thank you, this was a first for me and I was intrigued by the way the syllables compressed my thought to focus on the most important words - which also made it a powerful way to identify this month's learning. And it was fun!

Joanna

not only confident,
extremely creative writer.
Joanna is Queen!

big HUGZ!
