Divine Canine: The Monks' Way

Divine_canineYvonne DiVita of Lip-sticking and Scratchings and Sniffings reviews: Divine Canine: The Monks' Way to a Happy, Obedient Dog, Everything You Need to Know. Published by Hyperion out of NY, NY.

The book is full of marvelous photos, stories about training dogs, and some really excellent advice on how to keep your dog from jumping up on people, ignoring you when you call, and even how to get your new pup acclimated to the household.

Highly recommended... partly for the pics, mostly for the advice. The Monks' of New Skete use a lot of love, and teach you how to use praise and rewards properly. Enjoy the video...

I truly do love this book and recommend it to everyone I know. And, I believe in stepping out of the box occasionally to read something besides books on business. This is a good read, for pleasure as well as for learning. The photos are outstanding - we couldn't get them clear enough for the video - and the stories will hit close to home, I have no doubt. I thank Rosa for letting me talk about this book... and I thank her for allowing me to participate in A Love Affair with Books.

Hi Yvonne,
Your love of this book, and of your pets, comes through clearly in your video. I found it very interesting that you did your review in this manner - the video was very effective. I love my two dogs to bits, and I'm adding this book to my (ever-growing) reading list. Thanks for sharing it with us, Yvonne.

Hello Yvonne and thanks for sharing this video with us - I loved it! You have a very engaging style. I'm sure you'll be doing many more.

I'm not a dog person so I doubt I'll be buying the book (I've long since given up on the idea of training my cat) but you've definitely tempted me to think about doing video on my blog

Thanks!

Joanna
